Australia is one of the most mobile phone-centric societies
in the world, with almost 15 million mobile phone subscribers
in a population of 19 million. Even at this level of adoption
subscriber numbers continue to grow strongly.
Enhanced mobile network capabilities and advances in handset
technology have contributed to these mobile users increasingly
becoming mobile consumers of wireless data services. In Australia
in 1998, traditional voice-based services contributed ninety-nine
times more revenue to carriers than did data services. In
2002, the ratio had fallen to a little over twelve times,
with no sign of slowing. In the Asia-Pacific region as a whole
the value of the mobile content market is expected to more
than double again by 2006.
Unplugged Visuals aims to capitalise on the growing consumer
demand for mobile content by using its unique insight into
the wireless market and technical knowledge to connect mobile
consumers with engaging and entertaining content of their
choice.
By doing so successfully, UV aspires to be the undisputed
market leader in packaging, publishing and hosting consumer-focused
wireless content in Australia, East Asia, the Indian sub-continent
and West Coast USA.
